Passions & Hobbies
My strongest passion is the local church.  I am driven to read and discuss the Word of God along with other believers.  I love to facilitate groups who are seeking to help one another become more like Jesus. I like golfing with others. I enjoy watching volleyball, especially Olympic level teams.

Life Changing Moment
On Easter 1980, Jesus opened my heart to understand why He had to come and die so He could forgive me.  In my apartment that afternoon, I asked Jesus to forgive me and direct my life.  The purpose of growing His church is a life-long purpose.

Favorite Bible Story
In Acts 16, Paul and Silas are praying with Philippian believers.  Events unfold such that they are publicly beaten with rods and then put in the inner prison with their feet placed in stocks.  Despite the pain of the beating and the discomfort of the dirt and stone floor and walls, these two followers of Jesus were so controlled by their Hope in Christ and the Holy Spirit, around midnight they were praying and singing hymns to God. God worked wonderfully to add more members to His eternal choir. May we all increasingly consider our circumstances in light of our eternity!

What I want my Legacy to be
That I faithfully served Jesus and worked to strengthen and build the local church.  My prayer is that my children and grandchildren will actively serve in their local churches and enjoy the blessings that come from using their gifts and talents to encourage others to become everything that Jesus died to make possible.

People who had a Significant Impact on my Life
Barry Lawrence sparked my interest in Leadership in the church.  I am grateful he continues to challenge and encourage me as a leader. Steve Matson contributed in many ways to my spiritual growth.  I first served alongside of him on youth ministry teams.  Those years were filled with fun and grew my love for helping middle-schoolers mature in Jesus.  Then I served with him in the small group ministry.  For many years he faithfully fed me the Word as my lead pastor.

People would be Surprised to know that…
My family and I lived in England for a year.  The memories are a great blessing.

Family
Judy and I were married on February 14, 1981.  We have four grown children and three grandchildren and two grand-dogs.

Favorite Music
I enjoy many genres of music – including Classical, Rock, Christian, Jazz, Opera and Pop.

Favorite Sports Team
In 1969 my 12 year old heart was crushed when the Miracle Mets beat my Baltimore Orioles in the World Series and then the New York Jets, led by Joe Namath, defeated my Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl 3.  I enjoy watching sports, but I do not have a team I closely follow.

Education
I have a bachelor’s degree in Business and Computer Science from Penn State.
